NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash at the border of Davidson County and Cheatham County Sunday evening. According to Metro Nashville dispatch, the incident was reported at approximately 5:22 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, near the intersection of Highway 70 South and Beverly Hills Drive. The Metro Nashville Police Department said the investigation shows a blue Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling east on Highway 70 when a westbound white Ford F-150 veered off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and caused a broadside crash with the blue F-150. Then, a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was also heading east hit the back of the white F-150. Authorities said the driver of the blue F-150, 59-year-old David Elliott of Cunningham, died at the scene. In addition, two passengers in his truck were reportedly brought to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. According to law enforcement, the "driver of the at-fault white F-150" -- identified as a 48-year-old from White Bluff -- was taken to VUMC with critical injuries. Officials expect charges will be filed against him. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old driving the Dodge Ram only sustained minor injuries, police said. Cheatham County Sheriff Tim Binkley told News 2 shortly after 8 p.m. that Highway 70 was closed in both directions until further notice. It has since reopened to traffic. No additional details have been released about this incident.
