Youngstown crash results in motorcyclist critical, driver charged with OVI

A motorcyclist was hospitalized and a driver was charged with OVI following a collision in Youngstown's South Side early Thursday morning. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the corner of South Avenue and East Florida Avenue. According to accounts, a vehicle failed to give right-of-way while turning at the intersection, causing a crash with a motorcycle and resulting in serious injuries to the rider. The driver, identified as Megan Price, displayed agitation and argumentativeness toward officers while they attempted to obtain her details. Police noted the smell of alcohol on Price and observed an open bottle of beer on the car's floorboards and another unopened bottle on the passenger seat. The motorcyclist was critically injured and taken to the hospital, while Price faces an OVI charge and is to appear in court on Friday. Although the report attributes the crash to Price's failure to yield, she has not been formally charged with this offense. Dominic O'Brien and Jonathan Renforth provided details for this account.
