Young woman dies in crash in Gallatin County

The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that Ava Tolliver of Bozeman has been identified as the woman who died in a two-vehicle crash on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.Law enforcement officers responded to the collision near the intersection of Stucky Road and Cottonwood Road.Tolliver, 21 years old, was driving a motorcycle, and was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.The agency did not provide any information about the second vehicle, nor indicate whether anyone from the second vehicle was injured.The Montana Highway Patrol has not yet released a crash report to indicate the cause.We will update you if we get more information.(UPDATE, 3:52pm) The Montana Highway Patrol says the second vehicle was a Ford F-150 driven by a 20-year old man from Augusta; the man was wearing a seatbeltAccording to the MHP, at about 5:30 p.m., the Ford was westbound on Stucky Road and the motorcycle was heading east. The driver of the Ford was turning left into a gravel lot and as it crossed the center-line, the motorcycle collided with it.The MHP report says the motorcyclist "was suspected to be driving over the posted speed limit," and that Tolliver died at the scene.The driver of the Ford sustained what are believed to be minor injuries, and did not need to be taken to a medical facility.Alcohol and/or drugs are not suspected as factors in the crash.
