
Young bear killed in Howell County car crash
HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) is reminding drivers to keep on the lookout for wildlife on the road following a crash in Howell County. MDC said in a Facebook post that a young bear was killed after being hit by a vehicle while crossing a road at night. The driver in the crash was not injured. The driver reported the incident to local authorities, and an MDC agent in the county responded. The photos below were posted by the MDC and may be disturbing to some. MDC says if you inadvertently hit a wild animal on the roadway, do not approach them and immediately contact local law enforcement or conservation agents to report the incident.
