York officials urge caution after near-accident involving police vehicle
YORK, Pa. (WHTM) - Officials in York County are reminding drivers to use caution around emergency vehicles after a near-accident involving a police vehicle. The York County Office of Emergency Management shared a dashcam video from April 17, showing an officer attempting to pass vehicles on the Lincoln Highway. As the officer passed vehicles, another driver attempted to cross their path, nearly resulting in a head-on crash at the intersection with S. Oxford Street. The Office of Emergency Management says drivers should yield to emergency vehicles when they have their lights and sirens on. "REMEMBER, more than likely, the emergency vehicle you encounter is involved in a life-threatening situation!" the Emergency Management Office shared.
