The head coach of Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) in Morocco, Amine Benhachem, along with three other team members, were involved in a traffic accident in the US while participating in the FIFA Club World Cup. Fortunately, the incident near Washington did not result in serious injuries. Benhachem, team doctor Abderrazak Hifti, general director Youssef Debbagh, and a staff member were the individuals affected. The club promptly addressed the situation through a statement to reassure fans. Three of the victims were discharged from the hospital and rejoined the team, while Benhachem remained under observation as a precaution. They have all since returned to the team's base, allowing Benhachem to resume preparations for the upcoming match against Al Ain FC. Club president Hicham Ait Menna is present to support the coach during this challenging time. The accident adds to the difficulties faced by Wydad, who have struggled in the Club World Cup, losing both their matches. They are set to play Al Ain FC in a crucial match, being their last chance to avoid elimination. Despite this setback, Wydad officials are confident about the team's readiness with the staff fully recovered and back with the squad in the US.
