Worry escalates following recent incident in Holiday Hills, Lexington

Residents in the Holiday Hills neighborhood are feeling increasingly frustrated following a recent accident. Speeding and reckless driving have been ongoing issues in the area, leading residents to express concerns about potential consequences. A resident of Bordeaux Drive, Jeff Moore, shared how a driver crashed into the back of his trailer, causing it to collide with a vehicle ahead. This incident is just one of many that have occurred over the years, including cars flipping and crashing into nearby homes. Moore believes that the neighborhood's proximity to Versailles Road makes it a common route for speeding drivers. While property damage can be repaired, Moore is especially worried about the safety of children in the neighborhood, including his own grandson. Council member Jennifer Reynolds acknowledged the safety concerns and mentioned efforts made to address the speeding issues on Bordeaux Road. Despite offering assistance to eliminate cost-sharing barriers for installing speed tables, most property owners did not vote on the matter. Reynolds remains committed to working with traffic engineering to explore alternative solutions to address the problem of speeding in the neighborhood.
