Worker dies at Sherwin-Williams parking garage
A tragic incident occurred early Friday morning in the Sherwin-Williams parking garage, resulting in the death of a construction worker. Emergency responders were called to the scene on West 3rd Street after a 48-year-old worker was involved in a forklift accident that resulted in the forklift toppling over onto the worker, ultimately causing his death. Fortunately, no other workers were injured. Both the new Sherwin-Williams headquarters and the parking garage have been undergoing construction for several years, with plans for employees to move into the new facility in early 2026. While details about the accident, including the construction company involved, are still being investigated, Laborer's Union 310 has expressed sorrow over the tragedy. Sherwin-Williams also issued a statement expressing their condolences and emphasizing their commitment to safety. OSHA is conducting an investigation into the incident.
