Woman's death leads to homicide charges after Milwaukee crash at 98 mph

A Greenfield man is facing first-degree reckless homicide charges in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on Jan. 13 in Milwaukee. The collision took place near 93rd Street and Wilbur Avenue, resulting in the death of Elaine Corbitt. The scene was described as extensive, with debris spanning nearly a whole city block. The mangled black Nissan Rogue involved in the crash had its hood found about 115 feet away in a backyard. William Jerome Lee, the driver, needed to be rescued from the car and was later taken to Froedtert Hospital for evaluation. Reports indicate that Lee admitted to drinking a couple of beers hours before the incident. An investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling at 98.8 mph in a 25 mph zone at the time of the crash, with Lee allegedly applying "100% throttle." Lee could potentially face up to 60 years in prison if convicted.
