Woman succumbs to injuries in Columbus hospital following multi-car collision in Logan County
A tragic incident occurred in Logan County last week when a three-vehicle crash turned deadly after one of the victims passed away over the weekend. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that troopers responded to a collision on State Route 117 just north of County Road 222 in Huntsville on June 4. An inquiry disclosed that a Volkswagen Taos from 2023 failed to keep a safe distance and rear-ended a Tesla Model 3, causing the Volkswagen to collide head-on with a 2024 Kia Soul traveling north. The Kia's driver, Ashley Thomas, age 37 from Bryan, Ohio, sustained severe injuries and was first taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to a hospital in Columbus. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries five days later. The driver of the Volkswagen remains hospitalized with serious injuries, while the driver of the Tesla was unharmed. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, with support from the Huntsville Fire Department, Indian Lake EMS, Bellefonte Fire Department, and Richland Township EMS.
