Woman on trial for deadly Montrose crash that killed date pedestrian

The legal proceedings for Kristina Chambers are ongoing as she is being tried on a manslaughter charge in relation to the tragic death of Joseph McMullin, who was killed during a first date in April 2023. The incident occurred when Chambers, allegedly driving at high speed and intoxicated, lost control of her Porsche, striking and fatally injuring McMullin on a sidewalk in Houston. Prosecutors have stated that Chambers had a significantly high blood alcohol content and drugs, including cocaine, were found in her car. The trial, which began last week, has seen the prosecution present evidence and witnesses, while the defense has called upon experts in toxicology and intoxication to testify. The proceedings are set to continue this Wednesday. If found guilty of manslaughter, Chambers could face a prison sentence of two to 20 years.
