Woman killed in Dunning traffic crash, according to police

A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday on the Northwest Side of the city, resulting in the loss of a woman's life. The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on West Belmont Avenue in Dunning. Reports from Chicago police indicate that a collision occurred between a dark-colored vehicle driven by a 37-year-old woman and a dark-colored SUV operated by a 20-year-old man, both heading westbound on Belmont. Subsequently, the woman's vehicle struck a parked semi-truck, causing her to sustain critical injuries. She was swiftly taken to Loyola Hospital but, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries. Thankfully, there were no other reported injuries or citations issued, and the incident is currently under investigation by Major Accidents Investigation Detectives.
