Woman killed in collision with deer projectile.
In Paragon, Indiana, a tragic accident claimed the life of Cheyenne Sears, a 25-year-old mother, when a deer struck by another car flew through her vehicle's windshield on State Road 67. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office reported that the incident occurred when a Pontiac hit the deer, propelling it into the path of a Chevy Blazer where Sears was a passenger. Sadly, Sears lost her life, while the Blazer's driver was airlifted to a hospital and a juvenile passenger was taken to a children's hospital. The sheriff emphasized that such accidents are unpredictable and urged caution as deer are active during mating season. Sears' coworkers have launched a fundraiser that has raised over $53,000 to support her family. Colleagues and friends remember Sears as a dedicated nurse and new mother who brought joy and positivity to her workplace and community. Sheriff Myers stressed the importance of reducing speed and using bright lights in areas where deer are likely to cross roads to prevent such heartbreaking incidents.
