Woman in Oregon sets up fundraiser for brother injured in diving accident

A woman in Oregon has started a GoFundMe campaign to help her brother recover after he was paralyzed from diving headfirst into a pool and hitting the bottom. Following the incident on June 17th, Nathan broke his neck and shattered his C5 vertebrae. He underwent a six-hour surgery to remove the broken vertebrae and stabilize his neck in order to relieve pressure on his spinal cord. Sadly, Nathan currently lacks movement below his nipples, despite efforts to aid mobility. His sister, Mackenzie Avery, shared that Nathan will require acute physical rehabilitation once he is stable. The fundraiser has amassed almost $3,000 out of a $4,000 target so far.
