Woman in Hanover charged after crash resulted in death of her 6-year-old daughter
A 25-year-old woman from Hanover was taken into custody following a collision earlier in the year that resulted in the tragic death of her 6-year-old daughter and several injuries. The Indiana State Police reported that Dorothy Snell faced charges related to the incident. The crash happened in May at the crossing of State Road 256 and U.S. 31, where a Toyota Camry was making a turn on a green light when a Chrysler driven by Snell disregarded a red light and collided with the Camry. The impact left occupants in both vehicles with non-life-threatening injuries, except for Snell's daughter who tragically lost her life despite being secured with just a seatbelt in the Chrysler. Authorities determined that the Chrysler was speeding and Snell's blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit. Following her arrest, Snell was taken to the Scott County Jail with her initial hearing set for the following day and a bond established at $250,000, required to be paid in full.
