Woman in court for deadly crash on Brady St.

A court commissioner on Sunday set a $250,000 cash bail for 22-year-old Cera Wilkerson, who is facing charges for a fatal crash on Brady Street while evading the police. She is accused of speeding at 88 mph, well over the 25 mph speed limit, before the collision. Wilkerson faces charges including second-degree reckless homicide, second-degree reckless injury, and recklessly endangering safety. Prosecutors allege that she was speeding when she crashed into another vehicle at Humboldt Boulevard and Brady Street, resulting in the death of Lyft driver El Moctar Sidiya. Sidiya's family shared that the 28-year-old had recently immigrated to Milwaukee to start a new life. Milwaukee County Assistant District Attorney Sara Hill noted that at the moment of impact, the speed of Sidiya's vehicle was 63 mph and Wilkerson did not brake. Sidiya had a passenger, Marquis Ward, who sustained various injuries such as broken bones and a collapsed lung but is recovering. Wilkerson's next court appearance is scheduled for August 11.
