Woman hurt in head-on collision on I-55 at Perryville
A woman from Potosi is currently hospitalized with serious injuries after a head-on collision on Interstate 55 in Perry County just before midnight. The Missouri State Highway Patrol stated that the incident took place close to mile marker 137 in Perryville. A 34-year-old woman driving a 2020 Dodge Grand Caravan collided head-on with a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, which had three teenagers from St. Louis inside at the time. These occupants, comprising two 18-year-old men and a 15-year-old boy, sustained moderate injuries. Furthermore, due to the severity of her injuries, the woman driving the Dodge was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage and had to be towed away from the accident site.
