Woman from Terrytown detained for fatal hit-and-run collision on Crescent City Connection Bridge
A woman has been arrested by the Louisiana State Police following a fatal accident early on Saturday, Oct. 4, in New Orleans. State police were alerted to a crash on U.S. 90B near General De Gaulle Drive. Lonnie Thomas, 36, from Westwego, was riding a motorcycle and was struck by a car driven by Azaria Scott, 26, from Terrytown. Thomas was critically injured and later died in the hospital. Scott tried to flee but was apprehended by troopers. She was found to be impaired and was charged with multiple offenses including vehicular homicide. The investigation is ongoing.
