Woman from Suburban Chicago accused in deadly hit-and-run on I-57
A woman from Calumet Park has been apprehended by the Illinois State Police in relation to a deadly hit-and-run accident on Interstate 57 earlier this month. Qyeenie E. Neal, 25, has been charged with failure to report an accident resulting in death. The incident occurred at approximately 4:38 a.m. on Oct. 12 in the southbound lanes of I-57 near 112th Street. Following a collision between a Honda sedan and another vehicle in the right lane, the Honda driver, Antonio Antenez-Espinoza, 42, exited his vehicle and was struck by a passing Nissan SUV that fled the scene. Antenez-Espinoza was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. After an extensive investigation, the authorities identified the Nissan and its driver as Neal. She was arrested on Oct. 22 and subsequently charged with a felony by the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
