Woman from Somerset injured in garbage truck accident
A woman from Somerset, aged 54, is currently recuperating after being hit by a garbage truck while out walking her dog. As per the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, the incident took place on Slate Branch Road around 10:27 a.m. last Friday. Emergency services were quick to respond to the scene, and the woman received medical attention from Somerset/Pulaski County Emergency Medical Services before being transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was later transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington for further care. Fortunately, the driver of the garbage truck was unharmed. The authorities are still investigating the incident, with support from the Parker’s Mill Fire Department and the Pulaski County Special Response Team.
