Woman from Delmar accused of manslaughter in deadly collision
A woman from Delmar has been charged with manslaughter following a tragic wrong-way crash in Amsterdam. Veronica Armbruster, 59, was charged with second-degree manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, and other traffic law violations. She was driving east in the westbound lane of the Thruway when her vehicle collided with one driven by Cole M. Sevigny of Hudson, N.H. Both had to be extricated from their vehicles and were the only occupants. Armbruster had a blood alcohol level of 0.16% at the time. Sevigny tragically passed away, while Armbruster sustained injuries. She surrendered and was processed by State Police, then arraigned and remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. Armbruster worked as a nurse practitioner, and the practice she was part of declined to comment. Sevigny was a soon-to-be groom and worked in the family business "DC" ATM Systems.
