Woman from Carlisle Township admits to fleeing the scene of deadly Lorain accident

A woman from Carlisle Township pleaded guilty to charges related to a traffic accident in Lorain back in February. The incident involved her car hitting and killing a pedestrian. Lynda Wright, 53, admitted to not stopping after the collision, tampering with evidence, and vehicular homicide charges. Her sentencing is scheduled for December 12, and there is no agreement on the extent of her punishment. The accident took the life of Luis Wheeler, 50, who was crossing the road when hit by Wright's car. Despite various stories, including saying she thought she hit a mailbox or a deer, Wright has expressed deep remorse and acknowledges the possibility of going to prison for her actions. Prosecutors noted there was no evidence indicating she was intoxicated or acted recklessly, which limited the charges that could be brought against her.
