Woman from Bolingbrook faces DUI charge for crashing into IDOT truck at scene of deadly I-55 crash
A 27-year-old woman from Bolingbrook, Illinois, named Estephany Antunez was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including driving under the influence, after crashing into an Illinois Department of Transportation truck. The incident occurred while the IDOT truck was investigating a prior deadly crash on Interstate 55. Antunez allegedly ignored lane closures set up by Illinois State Police and collided with the IDOT truck. She then attempted to flee the scene but was eventually stopped by an ISP trooper after a two-mile pursuit. Antunez's blood alcohol level was reported to be .173. The driver of the IDOT truck sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Antunez was denied pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on July 21.
