Woman from Bolingbrook arrested for DUI following collision with IDOT truck at fatal I-55 incident.
A Bolingbrook woman, Estephany Antunez, 27, faced charges of DUI and multiple traffic offenses after crashing into an Illinois Department of Transportation truck that was at the scene of a previous crash on Interstate 55. The incident occurred early Sunday morning in DuPage County. The DuPage County State's Attorney's Office stated that Antunez drove around lane closures set up by Illinois State Police and hit the IDOT truck before attempting to flee the scene, narrowly avoiding hitting multiple individuals and an ISP Trooper. She was eventually stopped following a pursuit and was found to have a blood alcohol level of .173. The driver of the IDOT truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Antunez was denied pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on July 21.
