Woman dies after being thrown from vehicle in Highway 99 accident, according to CHP

A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning in Madera County, California, where a woman lost her life after being thrown from a Chevrolet Suburban following a collision on Highway 99. The California Highway Patrol received reports of the accident at around 9:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 99, just north of Avenue 11. The driver of the Suburban, a woman from Chowchilla, was traveling in the left lane behind a Chevrolet Malibu, whose driver came to a sudden stop due to heavy traffic. The Suburban, traveling at a high speed, collided with the Malibu. The impact caused the Suburban to veer into the median, flip over, and come to rest on its wheels, partly on the guardrail. Tragically, a 52-year-old woman from Madera, who was a passenger in the Suburban and was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. The driver of the Malibu and another passenger in the Suburban were transported to the hospital for treatment. The CHP is currently investigating the incident further.
