Woman detained for fatal hit-and-run involving cyclist
Please note that the video attached in the newsletter is related to a previous news story. St. Louis detectives have expressed their gratitude to the public for helping them identify a woman responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred in the Tower Grove South neighborhood. The incident took place on April 2 at the intersection of Gravois and Bamberger avenues, where Jason Lewis tragically lost his life after being struck by a silver Ford Edge. The driver of the vehicle initially fled the scene, but community tips and surveillance footage eventually led detectives to Tamarris Buckner. Despite Buckner denying involvement in the collision, evidence, including a tracker on her vehicle, linked her to the incident. She has since been charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and is currently in custody. Buckner, 29, is facing significant prior traffic violations and remains detained without bond, with her court appearance date yet to be confirmed.
