Woman dead after crash on Old Hickory Boulevard in Brentwood, police say

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Nashville woman has died following a single-vehicle crash near the Davidson County line, according to Metro Police. The crash was reported around 2 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of Old Hickory Boulevard, at the intersection of River Oaks Road. Investigators said Roberta Osgood, 30, was driving westbound in a Toyota Highlander on Old Hickory Boulevard. Her vehicle reportedly left the roadway, hit a concrete mailbox, and struck a tree before it came to rest in a ditch. Osgood was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died. Officials said Osgood was wearing a seatbelt at the time, and there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol at the scene. According to authorities, speed and failure to maintain the lane of travel contributed to the crash. The roadway reopened shortly after 6 a.m. Wednesday.
