Woman critically injured in hit-and-run crash on north side of Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A woman was critically injured in a crash on the north side of Indianapolis late Saturday night. Per a public police report, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 3800 block of North Meridian Street around 11:19 p.m. to investigate a crash. When police arrived at the scene, they located a woman who appeared to have been struck by a motorist. The woman was transported from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition. Police believe the motorist who allegedly struck the woman fled the scene after the crash. IMPD's report on the incident suggests the car involved in the crash was a gray sedan. Per the report, the car might be a BMW. IMPD crash investigators are handling the agency's examination of the crash scene and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
