Woman charged in reckless homicide after Brady Street accident

A Milwaukee woman faces five felony charges, including reckless homicide, after allegedly causing a fatal crash on Tuesday night while attempting to evade police on the city's Lower East Side. The incident began when officers tried to stop the speeding car driven by 22-year-old Cera Wilkerson near Teutonia and North. Wilkerson fled from the officers and led them on a chase that extended for over three miles before colliding with another car at Brady Street intersection. Sadly, the driver of the second car, identified as El Moctar Sidiya, passed away from injuries sustained in the crash, while a passenger in that car suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover. Wilkerson was arrested at the scene and taken to the hospital for treatment. In her statement to police, she claimed to have anxiety and a history with law enforcement, and did not recall the events leading up to the crash. Wilkerson has been accused of driving recklessly, running red lights, and reaching speeds well above the limit during the pursuit.
