Woman accused of second-degree murder and DWI in deadly Burlington crash, police report

A young woman has been accused of second-degree murder and driving while impaired after a deadly collision in Burlington, N.C. Paige Moore, 19, from Roxboro, allegedly drove her Audi A4 sedan into a Chevrolet Blazer SUV, resulting in the death of Richard Smith, 66, of Burlington. Both drivers were injured and taken to hospitals, where Smith later passed away from critical injuries. Authorities discovered that Moore was intoxicated and speeding well over the limit when she crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into Smith's vehicle. Surveillance footage from nearby businesses captured the collision. Following an investigation, Moore was charged with second-degree murder and DWI, and she is currently being held without bond in the Alamance County Jail.
