Woman accused in Dallas crash injuring 6
A woman from North Texas is facing legal charges after being involved in a crash where she drove in the wrong direction, causing injuries to six individuals, including three children. The incident occurred in Southeast Oak Cliff on Wednesday, near the intersection of Laureland Road and Shadycrest Trail. The driver of a blue Ford F-250, identified as Lateisha Wilson, collided head-on with a family traveling in a Mazda CX. While all six individuals survived the crash, Wilson was taken into custody and charged with six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was released on bond from Dallas County Jail on Saturday. Witnesses reported that Wilson confessed to driving on the wrong side of the road because she believed she was being followed by another driver seeking to harm her. The other driver stated that Wilson had hit his vehicle and then fled the scene, prompting him to follow her to obtain her license plate information. Witnesses also mentioned that they saw Wilson driving at about 80 miles per hour in the wrong direction just before the collision. Residents of Southeast Oak Cliff shared that accidents along Laureland Road are not uncommon, but this particular crash was especially jarring. Neighbors recalled hearing a loud impact, with one resident mentioning that the crash sounded worse than it appeared. The driver of the Mazda sustained a broken back, and multiple occupants suffered severe injuries, including one child who was briefly unconscious after the collision.
