Witness attributes deadly I-40 truck crash to drag racers
Tragedy struck late Tuesday night on Interstate 40 in Memphis as a tractor-trailer crashed, resulting in the loss of both the driver and their passenger. Witness Kee-Kee Fason, who was driving alongside the truck before the collision, expressed disbelief at the situation and hopes that the drivers responsible for the fatal crash will be held accountable. Fason described a harrowing scene where two racing drivers caused the tractor-trailer to swerve and ultimately crash into an overpass. Despite the heroic effort of the truck driver to avoid a greater calamity, the crash was fatal. Fason expressed gratitude towards the driver and passenger who tragically sacrificed their lives in trying to prevent a larger disaster. The trucking company confirmed that both the driver and passenger were team drivers. Authorities are seeking any video recordings of the incident and urge witnesses to contact the traffic division at 901-636-4679.
