West Jordan student gets new bike after accident with help from police officer
When the school year is in session, Aiden Hulet can routinely be seen arriving at West Jordan High School early in the morning on his bike to meet up with friends and chat with teachers. His positive and sociable nature has made him a valued member of the classroom, according to Life Skills Special Education teacher Sheldon Russell. Aiden also frequently engages in conversations with school resource officer Det. Austin Larson about everyday life, developing a strong bond between them. Aiden's friendly demeanor has earned him the support of his school community, as demonstrated when he had a biking accident. Despite the bike being wrecked in the incident, Aiden sustained only minor injuries. The faculty rallied around him, ensuring his safety and well-being, with Det. Larson even arranging for a replacement bike and helmet. Looking ahead, the West Jordan Police Department is emphasizing the importance of road safety for all road users. Aiden, grateful for the new bike, has pledged to prioritize safety whenever he rides it, especially during the summer months.
