Waukesha westbound lanes closed due to snowplow crash

A fatal collision involving a snowplow and an SUV led to the closure of westbound Interstate 94 in Waukesha for several hours, resulting in extensive traffic congestion. The incident occurred in the morning at the intersection of I-94 Westbound and Springdale Road between a Waukesha County snowplow operator and an SUV, as confirmed by the Wisconsin State Patrol. Following the crash, bystanders from the opposite direction rushed to assist the SUV driver as their vehicle began emitting smoke. Regrettably, the driver ultimately succumbed to their injuries after being taken to the hospital. The snowplow driver, fortunately, sustained no injuries. Wisconsin State Patrol promptly closed down I-94 westbound, leading to closure of on-ramps and exits at Barker Road and causing significant traffic delays on both eastbound and westbound lanes. The interstate was eventually reopened around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
