Watch what former CSU legend told police after fatal crash
BEACHWOOD, Ohio (WJW) -- Police body camera video released to the Fox 8 I-Team shows a former Cleveland State University Basketball star and his daughter getting arrested for a crash that killed a child. On the video you can hear what Kenneth McFadden told police and what officers say the evidence showed. McFadden and his 18-year-old daughter Jasmine were arrested June 21, shortly after a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 3-year-old girl. Police say an SUV driven by Jasmine, crashed into a restaurant patio. Police state Jasmine McFadden does not have a driver's license. Police say her father initially lied to police, saying he was the driver at the time of the crash. Officers told McFadden they looked at security video and saw that he got out of the vehicle and put his daughter in the passenger seat. On the body camera video, however, McFadden denies making those statements. "I didn't say," McFadden told the officers. "I said we were backing up and we felt the bump and as she felt the bump the car kept going." The police report also shows McFadden told officers he knew his daughter did not have a driver's license. Jasmine McFadden is facing a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide. She was released after posting bond. Her case has been sent to the Cuyahoga County Grand Jury. Kenneth McFadden is charged with obstructing official business and wrongful entrustment. McFadden’s attorney entered a written not guilty plea on his behalf Friday. He is due in court soon to face the charges.
