WATCH LIVE: One person dead following multi-vehicle crash on southbound I-15
One person was killed in a crash involving five vehicles on southbound Interstate 15 in Pleasant Grove early Tuesday. According to Utah Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just south of where I-15 and West 600 North intersect. Troopers said a driver took their eyes off the road while looking down in heavy traffic, which led to the first collision.Five vehicles in total were involved in the crash, with one rolling over. One person died and another was taken to the hospital in critical condition, while a third person was also transported but is considered to be in stable condition.The name of the victim who was killed has yet to be released. Crews are still working to clean up the highway, and officials hope to reopen all lanes of traffic in the coming hours.
