VSP: Fatal crash claims life of teen driver in Appomattox County
APPOMATTOX, Va. (WFXR) - A single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a teen driver from Appomattox County, according to Virginia State Police (VSP). On Friday, May 22, at 11:21 p.m., state troopers responded to the crash site at Salem Road, approximately one-half mile south of Elliott Lane. VSP's investigation shows a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling north on Salem Road when it ran off the roadway, hit an embankment and overturned. According to state police, the vehicle was being driven by a teenager who was not wearing a seat belt and died of their injuries at the scene. VSP says the crash remains under investigation.
