Visalia Police Officer involved in fatal crash with pedestrian
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – An on-duty Visalia Police Officer was involved in a fatal crash while driving a marked police car Wednesday night, according to the Visalia Police Department. Police say the crash happened around 9:10 p.m. near Houston Avenue and Rinaldi Street. Investigators say the officer was in a patrol vehicle when they struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was transported to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment, where they later died. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
