Vince McMahon from WWE granted entry into pretrial program for reckless driving charge
Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon has been granted entry into a pretrial program to address a reckless driving charge resulting from a car crash in Connecticut this summer. In exchange for making a $1,000 charitable contribution and committing to drive only with proper licensing and insurance, McMahon's reckless driving charge and an additional charge of following too closely will be dismissed after one year. The incident occurred on July 24 on the Merritt Parkway in Westport, where McMahon wrecked his Bentley and damaged two other cars. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the other drivers supported McMahon's participation in the pretrial program. McMahon's attorney emphasized that this was an accident and not a criminal offense. McMahon, who stepped down as WWE CEO in 2022 amid a sexual misconduct investigation, has denied the allegations brought against him and the related lawsuit is ongoing.
