Village manager from Fox Point accused in deadly motorcycle crash on I-94

The village manager of Fox Point has been charged in connection with a deadly motorcycle accident on Interstate 94 near Elmhurst Road in the Town of Delafield that occurred on June 25. Scott Botcher, 62, from Delafield, is facing a hit-and-run charge after a motorcycle rear-ended a white SUV in heavy traffic, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist, identified as 29-year-old Colton Jose. Video evidence showed that another car also struck the fallen rider and drove away from the scene. Through an investigation, authorities traced the vehicle to Botcher based on a part left behind and a previous 911 call. When questioned, Botcher claimed he was aware of hitting the motorcycle but drove home instead of stopping. In response to the allegations, Fox Point Village President Christine Symchych expressed sadness, stating the village is gathering information before making any judgments. The village board has approved the use of Botcher's accrued paid time off during any necessary absences.
