Vigil held for one-month-old Le'anna Sterling after fatal crash
Family and friends came together at the corner of 8th and T Street on Sunday evening to honor and remember Le'anna Sterling, the one-month-old who tragically passed away after a car accident. The vigil for Sterling was decorated with candles, balloons, and flowers as her loved ones fondly reminisced about her life."She was so precious, alert, and had a pure, innocent aura about her that I adored," shared a family member. Sterling was involved in a car crash near downtown Bakersfield on Aug. 24 and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Authorities confirmed that impairment was not a contributing factor in the accident. One week after the crash, family and friends assembled to reflect on their loss and emphasized their determination to move forward despite their grief."Although we are saddened, we will persevere," noted a family member. The family plans to continue honoring Le'anna's memory and ensuring that her name is not forgotten within the community.
