View Tampa police video of chase preceding deadly Ybor collision
Tampa police shared a 32-second video over the weekend that showed parts of a high-speed chase that tragically ended with a driver crashing into a busy sidewalk in Ybor City. This devastating event led to the loss of four lives and injuries to more than a dozen individuals. The video mainly features footage from a police helicopter that monitored the Toyota's movements as it raced through different areas before eventually colliding in Ybor City. The chase began after the helicopter spotted the Toyota racing another vehicle in Seminole Heights around 12:30 a.m. The pursuit continued south on the interstate before troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol attempted to stop the car near Palm and North Nebraska avenues. Despite a trooper's effort to halt the vehicle by hitting its back end with a patrol cruiser, the car evaded capture and eventually crashed into the front of Bradley’s on 7th nightclub on Seventh Avenue.
