Video shows fatal wrong-way crash involving Oostburg couple
A recently released dashcam video obtained by WISN 12 News has revealed the events leading up to a tragic wrong-way crash on Memorial Day in Ozaukee County that claimed the lives of Nicole and Jay Horne and left their daughter, Allissa, critically injured. The video captured Ace Vue, 34, of Milwaukee reportedly making a U-turn on the freeway and driving at speeds exceeding 100 mph near Port Washington, in the wrong direction. Prior to the collision, other drivers were reportedly in danger as Vue's car sped past them going south in the northbound lanes, with a semi-truck flashing its lights desperately to warn other motorists. Despite a witness reporting the erratic driving to a 911 dispatcher, authorities were unable to stop Vue in time to prevent the tragic accident. The head-on collision with Nicole Horne's vehicle resulted in her and Jay's deaths, while their daughter Allissa sustained critical injuries. Vue is now facing multiple charges, including reckless homicide and endangering the lives of fellow drivers. The Horne family, known for their close bond, are being mourned by loved ones, and funeral arrangements are pending until Allissa can be present. Vue remains in custody on a $2 million bail pending further investigation.
