Video shows emergency teams responding to fatal Howland plane crash

More than a month following the tragic plane crash in Howland, a recent body camera footage from the Ohio State Highway Patrol offers a glimpse into the emergency responders' reactions at the scene. The incident occurred on June 29 when a Cessna 441 aircraft crashed near Spring Run Road and King Graves Road NE, approximately two miles from the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Vienna. The video shows a significant presence of firefighters and debris scattered in the area. As one trooper briefed the firefighters, the scene was located away from the road, and preparations were made to secure the area for the FAA and NTSB investigations. The crash resulted in the loss of the pilot, co-pilot, and four passengers. Initial findings from the NTSB report indicated that the plane had ascended to 100 feet above ground before the tragedy. Witness reports suggested that the aircraft never surpassed the tree line and was heard with a loud engine noise. Investigation efforts are ongoing, with contributions to the report by Jim Bowser. You can watch the bodycam footage in the accompanying video above.
