VIDEO: Semi-truck dangling from I-10 following collision

Six people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision that took place on Wednesday, August 27, on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 in El Paso, Texas. Video obtained by KTSM showed a semitrailer hanging off the side of the Interstate near Gateway East at Lomaland. The El Paso Fire Department confirmed that five individuals were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, one person suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized, and three people declined treatment from first responders. The crash occurred just before 11 a.m., leading to the closure of all eastbound lanes on I-10 before Lomaland and Gateway East at Lafayette. As of 3:45 p.m., both roadways remained closed. Witness video displayed the semitrailer hanging from the barrier on I-10 East post-collision, alongside several vehicles with damage along the right lane of the highway. The semitrailer seemed to belong to Swift Transportation, a local trucking company. Truck drivers passing through the area emphasized the importance of cautious driving, highlighting the need for motorists to give trucks ample room on the road to prevent accidents like these. Authorities have not released any further details, and the scene is now under police jurisdiction. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
