Video prompts inquiries on fatal Boston crash killing 3 teens after police chase

Recently, a video was released showing police pursuing a stolen car that eventually led to a fatal crash on Morrissey Boulevard in Boston in 2024, resulting in the deaths of three teenagers. There are concerns regarding whether the pursuit continued after supervisors had called it off. The Suffolk County District Attorney's Office made public surveillance footage from various locations related to the incident. The pursuit began in Mattapan at 3 a.m. when officers noticed a stolen silver Hyundai and began following it, suspecting the occupants were involved in an armed robbery. Despite a supervisor instructing them not to pursue, video evidence shows a police vehicle closely following the speeding car with its lights on. The driver claimed to have turned off the lights and sirens. The car was recorded going at 106 miles per hour before rolling over near the Savin Hill Yacht Club. Unfortunately, three teenagers lost their lives in the crash. Despite assurances of a thorough investigation by Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, details about potential disciplinary actions against the officers involved remain uncertain more than a year later.
