VIDEO: Crash involving injuries closes I-84 East in Newtown
NEWTOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — A multi-car crash on Interstate 84 in Newtown closed down the Eastbound side of the highway Saturday afternoon into the evening. The highway remained closed between Exits 11 and 13 as of 6:27 p.m. According to Connecticut State Police (CSP), the crash occurred around Exit 11. According to CSP, injuries have been reported but the extent remains unknown at this time. The Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Squad (CARS) is on scene to assist with an investigation. Video provided by a viewer shows heavy traffic disruptions following the highway closure. No further information has been released at this time.
