Victims' families sue Tesla over alleged 'defective design' in Cybertruck crash.
The family of a young woman who tragically lost her life in a Tesla Cybertruck accident in California last year is now pursuing legal action against the popular electric vehicle manufacturer. The amended complaint, filed by attorney Roger Dreyer on behalf of the Tsukahara family, alleges that the design flaws of the vehicle led to Krysta Tsukahara and others being trapped inside the burning truck. The complaint states that due to a defective design, the electronic door release system failed during the collision, preventing the occupants from escaping. The lawsuit specifically criticizes the design and operation of the vehicle doors, pointing out that in an emergency, the standard door operation depends on electronic buttons which become useless in case of power loss or damage. The family of the deceased young woman expresses their sorrow and frustration, questioning how a company as valuable as Tesla could release a vehicle that was unsafe in various aspects. The lawsuit also involves other defendants, including individuals who were involved in the crash. Autopsy reports indicated the presence of drugs and alcohol in some of the individuals involved in the tragic incident.
