Victim in fatal US-189 crash identified by law enforcement

PROVO, Utah (ABC4) — Police have identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash on US-189 in Provo Canyon. Around 7:30 p.m. on April 8, a male motorcyclist was driving on eastbound US-189, when he lost control over his vehicle and crashed into the center median. The motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle into the westbound lanes, according to Utah Highway Patrol. When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they determined he was in critical condition and dispatched a life-flight helicopter. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on scene. The life-flight helicopter was cancelled. UHP has now identified the victim as 20-year-old Tristen Tran, from Vineyard, Utah. Following the crash, US-189 was closed to all traffic for about an hour. There were residual lane closures and delays for several hours after the crash as well.
