
Victim identified in deadly crash on I-70 in Wabaunsee Co.
WABAUNSEE CO. (KSNT) - State law enforcement now know what caused a deadly crash on I-70 late Tuesday morning. The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) released information about Tuesday's fatal crash on I-70 in Wabaunsee County. According to KHP's crash log, at 11:15 a.m. east of Keene Eskridge Road, a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling westbound along I-70 when it entered the median, and crossed over into the eastbound highway. The Hyundai continued into the passing lane of eastbound I-70, and collided with a Ram 1500 truck. According to KHP, the driver of the Hyundai sustained fatal injuries. She was identified as Kimberly G. Terhune, 64, of Maple Hill. The Ram truck had one driver and one passenger. The driver of the truck sustained suspected minor injuries, while the passenger had suspected serious injuries. Both people in the truck were taken to an area hospital. Before noon on May 13, the Wabaunsee County Sheriff's Office posted to social media that the multi-vehicle crash forced the temporary shut down of the eastbound I-70 lanes.
